Yum! This Chinese restaurant is a blessing for weary travelers who arrive too late to Estes Park to deal with the vacation crowds. We had egg rolls that are clearly homemade, not frozen. We also shared chicken pad thai and orange chicken. Both entrees had the quality of a much more upscale restaurant, and we had enough to take the leftovers and eat them for lunch the next day. The service was also very attentive and friendly. Definitely on our don't miss list for Estes Park!

Good deal on food, typical Chinese food. Egg roll was better than average. I had Kng Pao chicken and it was ok. When we were served we were asked if we wanted chopsticks and then the waiter proceeded to forget about bringing them. We had to ask another waitress for the chopsticks. Attentive though bringing cold water and food was served quickly.

One of, if not THE BEST Chinese meals I have ever had! OMG - my husband and I were looking for a nice bite to eat in Estes Park (where there is a surprising lack of restaurants, especially ones with good reviews) and decided to check out some options - using Yelp of course ;) We saw good reviews and decided to give it a go. It is very unassuming and tucked away - we missed it twice trying to find it. And in fact, our waiter (who was friendly and attentive) said how they don't advertise as they don't want it too crowded; mostly locals only eat there). We were BLOWN AWAY at how amazing the food was!!! High quality ingredients prepared with attention and care; just sooooo good! I also think pretty reasonable prices, too. Our only complaint is that we only found them on our last night in Estes! We can't wait to go back there when we visit Estes again. A++++

The food here is excellant Chinese food. Very nice menu with great selection. We had General Tao's chicken which was seasoned to perfection and very good quality white chicken breast. I had the Garlic Chicken and the sauce was very original and not the typical brown sauce out of the jar that goes with every dish. It was served with white rice and that was very fluffly and fresh. The service was a bit slow since they had only 2 servers. We had to wait a bit to order, but it was worth the wait.

The food was ok, not great. Definitely not the best hot and sour soup as some other reviewers mentioned. Our server wasn't very interested in us. So far Estes park is not panning out in the food department.

Food was good, service was average. Hot and sour soup was good, the garlic chicken was great. Best of all they were open on a holiday.

Worst Chinese restaurant ever! If I can give no star, I will do it. I'm Chinese myself,so complain Chinese food in U.S. is not smart. But their attitude towards customers, especially Chinese, is awful! I and my friends just want some food with homeland taste after one day exhausted tour. That's why we made this unforgivable mistake! I don't want to tell the detailed story because it makes me feel sick! Let's be brief, they can't separate bills for individual customers! Yes, this happened not in China but U.S.! So I asked: the other restaurants around this area all can do it, why you can't? The cashier told me that she doesn't care about others, but at her place she will not do that! So I asked the Americans on the other table that if they would like to separate the bill or not. Then the cashier and other waiters became very nervous. Obviously, people on the other table did not want to get wet and that cashier just repeat 3 words: I don't care. This made me very upset and felt they are fooling tourists because they think these people would not come back after this travel and they can do whatever they want to them! That this the only reason I can find for them that why they do not care customers feedbacks. Realized that, I just done with them and gave it up. After I give my credit card, she stared to complain in Chinese that separate bills is not that easy! Then I told her I've already gave in, don't tell me these nonsense any more! When we left they said very bad words to us in Chinese, some kind of Shoo! In Estes park, I felt we were race discriminated by our own people. What a ironical joke!

We had looked at the reviews, they had good and bad as with any restaurant. We like to try places no matter what, and give our own opinions. This place is well worth a visit. My wife and I split the cheese and basil wontons and they were excellent. The hot and sour soup was on point, not the best I've ever had, but very good. My wife hade the chicken with snow peas and I had the triple Kung pao (with chicken, beef, and shrimp) not exact name but close. Both were made with fresh ingredients and probably the best we have ever had. Large portions. Reasonable prices. Service was excellent, however there was only one waiter, but she did an excellent job. There were only 3 tables of guest while we were there. I did see many locals coming in for to go orders. I would recommend to everyone.

Horrible service and they tried to rip us off....!!! I was there with 23 other friends. The server tried to cramp 5 of us into a small booth. And here is the worse part, the owner told the server in chinese "change the menu, its a large group" and they replace the lunch menu (from which other customer order their food) with the dinner menu which is each $6 more expensive...! They didnt know that one of us speaks chinese. Too bad for them, lucky for us....! We walked away immediately...!

standard salty greasy chinese food. not great, but not horrible. ordered the chicken garlic sauce. it was alright. make sure you order from the husband tho - nice polite guy, the wife was a total bitch , she was bitching in chinese which i could i understand her. feel bad for what he has to deal with at home n at work . no where to HIDE @_@ i would only go back cuz there arent alot of options.

Horrible quality and quantity, with a unreasonable price tag. Do not come here! For $8, we got only 4 less than thumb sized shrimp for our coconut prawns as appetizers. The Pad Thai is too wet and doesn't even taste like Pad Thai.

Excellent! We had the sesame chicken and the peanut sauce curry. Both were great. Waiter was great and did a nice bag folding trick for us at the end of our meal- manual ziploc! Entrees are fairly priced and you get large portions. When we are back in Estes Park we will pay another visit! If you're in the area and want a good meal, make sure to stop by.

Sign just says Chinese restaurant (big red awning in front). Typical small Chinese joint, no frills, but good food, good price, fairly hefty servings. Nothing we had was too spicy. Lots of parking. Egg rolls were good but not great. Hot and sour soup was excellent. I had the cashew chicken, very good sauce. My wife had the veggie chicken, much healthier, the sauce was good but a little thick. Overall an excellent meal for the price and location.

Stopped here for some food one night. The food was good, nothing overly exceptional but still delicious. The service was impeccable however, very attentive server.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We were in Estes Park for the last night and wanted good food. Most places in Estes are poorly rated, but this place had good food reviews. We weren't necessarily looking to eat Chinese food (or Thai) in the mountains, but went anyway. We were exhausted from a week of mountain activities and this place was quiet around 8:30 on a Saturday night. The service was quick, attentive and friendly. I'm not sure, but I think it was the owner that served us and we enjoyed talking to him. We ordered the Hunan Chicken, which was standard in style, but exceptional in flavor. It tasted like the ingredients were fresh and it was prepared with care. This place also has some Thai options. I've always wanted to try Drunken Noodles and opted for that. Wow. It hit all the right notes. It was sweet and savory and just a bit spicy. The noodles were thick and delicious. If we are ever in Estes again, this place will be one of the first spots we hit.

We stopped here on a rainy day in Estes Park because we were craving some comfort food. We were two adults and two kids (10, 8) Our son is a finicky eater and I asked if I could just get a bowl of rice with some chicken in it. We couldn't. I asked again, they wouldn't do it. That upset me. Really? That's poor customer service in my book. On the other hand, the food was terrific. We ordered off of the menu and it was all really yummy. Our son even enjoyed the noodles and chicken. My main gripe? Customer service

Great Chinese and Thai food. Nice portions. Super fresh veggies , cooked perfectly... Still crisp! Low prices... $10-15. Lots of comfy booth seating. Fast preparation and service too. Much better than I might have guessed! Just what I was hoping for!

I apparently have not arrived on a four or five star night. The service so far has been abysmal, leaving little hope that the food will even be edible. After being told that my egg roll appetizer would be out in five minutes, it still has not arrived after twenty five. Stay away.

Does not look like much on the outside but the food was fantastic and the service was great. We had a large party and small kids - everyone thought it was great.

This is a hidden treasure in Estes Park! We were not satisfied by the food options in Estes Park on our visit in fall 2014. Yelp had really good reviews for China Garden Asian Grill though. Chinese food is not something I get too experimental with, especially when traveling, and especially in small towns that generally don't have good food options. Thank you for busting my preconceived idea, Yelp! We made two visits in our week stay in Estes Park in the fall, and a followup visit was listed among the highlights in a quick spring 2015 trip to Estes Park. Menu: 5 stars The menu has just about everything you'd want from a Chinese food restaurant. I don't recall searching for something they didn't have. Atmosphere: 4 stars The restaurant is very quiet, comfortable, and your typical hole-in-the-wall Chinese place. Nothing special, but nothing off-putting either. Waitstaff: 4 stars The service itself is great, but the wait time is inconsistent. We ordered take-out for our 2nd visit, and it was twice as long as quoted, and the restaurant was filled with people waiting for their order. No issues when we dined in the 1st and 3rd time though, and there didn't seem to be people waiting for their takeout. Food: 5 stars This place is likely the best Chinese food place I've ever been to. I'd have to compare it to my previous favorite in California again to confirm. The flavors are fresh, light, and complex. I order the General Tso's Chicken. It's spicy, bright, and not a goopy mess of sugared sauce. The chicken is white meat, only lightly breaded, and since the sauce is lighter and thinner, it stays crunchy. The Egg Drop Soup is thick, flavorful, and not overly salty. The combination fried rice is fantastic and not at all the typical salty and greasy! Hubby gets the Hunan Beef and it's really flavorful, and the beef is so tender. Price: 4 stars The price is on the higher side, but not out of line with the quality. It definitely has not kept me from returning, and I plan to return again on my next trip to Estes Park! Overall: 5 stars I put more weight in the food than anything else, and this place earns a strong 5 stars because of it's consistent good food. I can't wait to visit Estes Park again so I can have some good Chinese food!

Being a local, I've eaten here a good many times. It is the only Chinese restaurant in town and IT. IS. YUMMY!!! The orange chicken, fried rice, basil cream cheese wantons, veggie egg rolls, chicken lo mein, beef n broccoli and steamed rice to name just a few are just absolutely ridiculous with DELICIOUSNESS!!! Their orange is far and beyond better than Panda Express. The owner lady is the sweetest woman and prepares your food like you're her family she's making a meal for. I highly-highly-highly recommend you eat here. With Love, A sincere and honest LOCAL!

Food comes out quickly, is fresh (the veggies are crisp, not wilted) and tasty. As other reviewers have mentioned, the actual restaurant is not a sight for sore eyes, but it gets the job done. I had beef and broccoli and hubby had peanut sauce curry. We both really enjoyed our meals and had plenty for leftovers. One downside is that the only choice as a side for entrees is steamed rice (as opposed to brown or fried rice), but it's a minor minus. Overall this is a great little place off the beaten path that I'd go to again.

I loved the orange chicken! We also had the mango tango and vegetable tofu. The veggies were fresh and everything was tasty. We would definitely come again. My kids loved it and so did I.

It's hard to guess where you'll find a place that truly surprises you, and it can make you wonder just what hidden treasures you pass all the time. China Garden looks like a typical shopping center restaurant with the huge "Chinese Restaurant" sign on the building and nothing else. I've likely driven by one or two dozen times on my way to Rocky Mountain National Park, barely even acknowledging its existence if I even noticed it was there at all. On my last visit there, though, the folks I was with had a hankering for Chinese and there they were. And how lucky we got. We went in about half an hour before closing, hoping that we wouldn't be too long, on a quiet Sunday night. It's a nice little space with pictures of China and Chinese calendars on the walls. Our server was polite and patient, fine that we had come in so near to closing (it might have helped that we called ahead). The food, though, was by far the biggest surprise. I've noted in other reviews that I've yet to truly have "bad" Chinese, that in most cases I'll at least find it enjoyable. So when I get some that's truly good, not only good but great, it's notable. And the food we got was great. I ordered the red curry and it was one of the best curry dishes I've ever had. Anywhere. Trying all of the dishes we got there was not a weak one in the bunch. The portions are very generous and you of course get all of the sticky rice you can eat to put on the side or, in my case, have to dump my delicious red curry chicken. We haven't always branched out when eating in Estes, but now that we have, I'm so glad that we did.

My wife and I stopped in Estes Park for a few days. DO NOT let the look of the place fool you! It's delicious and a must stop for some Chinese Cuisine!

Not the place for good, or even mediocre, Chinese take out. We were told 15 minutes when we ordered, which was shortly later extended to 20 then 30 and we ended up waiting 55 minutes, paying $30 for 2 meals of normal takeout size, and huffed at when we asked for plastic forks. The lady who checked us out was rude and far more concerned with checking to make sure no outside people used their restroom than serving us in a timely and even semi-friendly manner. We won't be visiting again.

Worst service EVER!!!! My family is on vacation and decided we wanted Chinese food for lunch.... Worst decision of the whole trip!!! We sat down and ordered. As we were ordering my littler brother dropped a fork onto the ground... the women who was taking our order then proceeded to tell my family "we needed to control our child!" He was not being loud at all but because of dropping one fork apparently he was "out of control" my family will never recommend this place to anyone! Awful awful awful service!

Great food! My favorites here are garlic chicken, wonton soup, and lo mein noodles. An average per person is about $8.00 (including soup, drink, and meal). This looks like a dump, but do not judge! The food is awesome! Best Chinese food in Estes Park. Love this place! You have to try their food here!

Who knew? Very decent Chinese food in Estes Park? Wow! We went for lunch and tried Kung pao chicken, Sesame chicken, and peanut curry with tofu. All three dishes were excellent! Egg roll was home made and light and crispy. Hot and sour soup was very tasty, but could use a few Shiitake mushrooms. Overall very good and much better than your typical strip mall Chinese fare. They say no MSG on anything FWIW. Recommended when your tired of the typical town burger fare.

Wow! Who knew you could get truly decent sesame chicken in Estes??? The place could use some cozying up: warmer paint, maybe fabric on the ceiling - needs some help feeling warmer. A touch of traditional Chinese urhu in the background wouldn't hurt either.

Food was good and staff friendly. The basil chicken was exceptionally good. The combination of spices, including jalapeños, gave it a great flavor.

Loved China Garden! It's a little out of the way, but so glad we found it! They have brand new booths and a pleasant cheery decor. We had vegetable egg rolls, General Tso's chicken, Orange Beef, and chicken and shrimp Pad Thai. Everything was very fresh. Most impressive was the General's chicken because it had a light crispy batter and all white meat chicken. I would absolutely go back and I highly recommend China Garden!

While in Estes Park, we were looking for something other than the usual Main Street fare. We read some reviews for the China Garden Asian Grill and decided to give it a shot. I'm glad we did! The egg drop soup and vegetable egg rolls were excellent. I had the General Tso's chicken (medium spice) and loved it. The chicken (all white meat) was fried perfectly and the flavor was outstanding. My wife had the chicken with vegetables and was equally impressed. Large portions and excellent flavor. I'm looking forward to returning to try the pad thai, drunken noodles and the curry dishes. Check it out next time you're in Estes Park.

We give China Garden 5 Stars because we loved their Mango Tango and the Phad Thai, yes Phad Thai at a Chinese restaurant, was the best Phad Thai we've ever had.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
